Namaste! Here’s a review on one
of the most acknowledged film which I think has done and messaged the same but
on exceptionally important directive about the helplessness of the old aged due
to the in-competency of their juveniles in handling them in their second
child-hood.
This piece of art is directed by Satish Rajwade, a writer, actor and director. Nana Patekar is (as Senior Inspector Maruti Nagargoje) an illustrious, multi-dimensional actor in the forefront. Sumeet Raghavan(as Rahul) and Iravati Harshe (as Bhakti) are the two other major leading roles around which the story goes. The film is produced by Ajay Devgn, and many others including Nana. The three important characters of the film Maruti, Rahul and Bhakti have done their jobs quiet well. Maruti is an inspector from a village who is a smart with rural English ascent. Rahul is a lawyer and Bhakti is a professor in a college. There is also another character due to which the story takes plays and which as I said earlier is the double role of Nana sir. This mysterious character is not seen in the trailor of the film nor is it brightly mentioned by any of the other characters during their promotion programs. Now I would like to break the ice, it is the father of Rahul ‘Aba’ who mangle’s down from the balcony. Because of this the inspector runs the investigation and the suspense & thriller part of the film starts for towards who the needle of accusation point towards. At the same time Aba is in hospital and is recovering from the incident. The story then gains more twist and turn which droves ourselves with the couple and certainly we get to now why the underlining statement in the poster states “Ha shaitan batlit mavnar nay(This demon will not fit in the bottle)”though the translation will not get the essence which the Marathi sentence gives. But the synopsis is that the inspector wants to make realize the brunt which the old aged face on our behavior to the couple and also to the audience. The story is quite amazing and trustworthy. It does not let us feel that here it is extended but keeps us enclosed with our own murderer. In the last half an hour we get to the real motive of the inspector and the film and puts us in a dilemma- are we giving enough to the old aged in our house? Shooting it in just 40-45 days is another marvel. Nana Patekar is mostly expected with such roles and is seen as socially sensitive actor with extensive experience in Hindi and Marathi film industry. The acting and direction both have done commendable job giving the exact impact of the film.
In their launch events the team has always emphasized upon their co-ordination and supreme planning which was their secret of success. These types of films in Marathi are very new to my generation and giving a social message in the form of thriller films is a unique attempt.
